APRC Courses

APRC is responsible academic planning which entails planning of training programmes of the Institute in consultation with the training divisions; and coordination of research and consultancy work undertaken by the Institute.

Aim

To equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills–in identifying appropriate data collection methods and collecting data, designing data collection tools– necessary for carrying out research

Course Objectives

  • Write research proposals that can help to generate credible and valid facts about the problem researched and attract funding.
  • Structure their research proposal and full report.
  • Design questionnaires and interview schedules.
  • Conduct focus group discussions and observation methods of data collection.
  • Conduct research in accordance with research ethics.

Research officers, Monitoring and Evaluation officers, and managers in the public sector, non-governmental organizations, and private sector

Course Synopsis

This course equips participants with research methods skills necessary for rigorous diagnosis of problems. The course will focus on structuring the research proposal and full report, data collection and analysis methods, designing data collection tools, report writing and research ethics. Specialized knowledge and practical skills acquired by participants will enable them to generate credible facts crucial in managerial decision making.
